The need for developing technologies, which would result in geothermal free energy, is imminent. This is a largely undeveloped area of fantastic alternative energy possibilities, as it simply taps the energy being naturally created by the Earth herself. Vast quantities of power are present below the surface crust on which we move and have our being, all we need do is tap into it and control it.

The temperature at the hub of the earth is 60 times greater than the temperature at which water boils and this tremendous heat develop pressure, which exist only a few miles underground. This enormous heat is a store of massive free energy and result in super hot fluids called magma, which we can see whenever a volcano erupts. These fluids also come up to the surface of the earth as steam and erupt from vents.
Such vents can also be made by us as well as chambers where the magma can be contained and later convert this into free energy to develop electricity for lights and heat in our homes. In the creation of a geothermal power station, a well would be dug where there is a good source of magma or heated fluid, then piping would be fitted down into the source, and the fluids forced to the surface to develop the needed steam. The steam would be used to produce electricity, using a turbine engine.
There is lots of skepticism regarding the tapping geothermic free energy sources, which is preventing large-scale production of this free energy. Critics say that study and research to find a resourceful area is too costly and takes up too much time. Then setting up a geothermic power station is also very expensive, with no guarantee of any future profits. It might be found that a geo-thermal site is ultimately not making enough steam to make the plant feasible or promising.
Unfortunately we also hear from environmentalists who worry that bringing up magma can bring up potentially damaging materials along with it. However the benefits of geothermic free energy far outweighs such remarks if only we explored it deeper. The fact is this is the free energy of the Earth herself means it does not develop any pollutants. geo-thermal energy is an economical free energy source – easy to develop after site identification and the set up of the plant to produce it.
geo-thermal plants, moreover, do not need to be as large as electric plants, giant dams, or atomic energy facilities - the surroundings would be less disrupted. Being an alternate source of free energy, its usage would lessen our addiction on coal and oil. The most fundamental point in the favor of geo-thermal energy is that we would never exhaust it and nor would its value appreciate with time, as it is an long-term source. The use of geothermic free energy would be, in the end, very cheap, after investigation and power station building costs are recouped.
